We hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and safe. We have been thinking about each and every one of our patients and are excited to see you again.
When you walk into our waiting room, you will see some changes. There will be a plexiglass shield at our front desk to protect both you and our staff. We will ask you to use the hand sanitizer once which will be located on our desk immediately to the left of the front door. From there we will ask you the recommended MDA COVID-19 screening questions and take extraoral temperatures using our forehead thermometer. If proper social distancing cannot be obtained in our waiting room, we may ask that you wait in your car and we will call/text you when we are ready to bring you back for your dental treatment. Unfortunately, we needed to remove any items in the waiting room that cannot be easily disinfected for you and your family’s safety.
In each dental treatment room, we have implemented an Extraoral Dental Filtration unit that will be used during patient care. This unit will be used in conjunction with intra-oral suction to remove droplets and aerosols associated with dental care. With an extensive medical grade filtration system, viruses and germs will be eliminated.
In addition, we have installed a “low energy plasma” air filtration unit in each operatory that will run 24/7 to continually filter and remove any airborne viruses or bacteria.
Our staff will be wearing extra layers of protective equipment as well. We plan to utilize N95 masks, surgical masks and faceshields. We understand these new precautions can be frightening and distracting. We promise that we are the same, gentle and loving dental family that you are used to. These extra precautions are to continue doing what we have always done, keep you and our staff safe during your appointment.
Please see the attachments below for further information on the new systems we have integrated into our dental practice. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us at 616-454-9091. We are look forward to seeing you soon and although you may not see it under the mask, we will be all smiles when you’re here!
